About KIBRI

At KIBRI, we are passionate about preserving and celebrating art by underrepresented artists, including refugees, immigrants, and individuals from formerly colonized nations. Through expert advisory services and thoughtfully curated exhibitions, we create a global platform where artists, curators, collectors, and cultural leaders come together to connect, collaborate, and engage in meaningful dialogue around creativity and cultural expression.

The name KIBRI means appreciation and originates from Tigrinya, one of the world’s oldest known languages. Rooted in Eritrea—a land rich in history and often recognized as part of the cradle of civilization—the word KIBRI is also found in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, symbolizing a timeless reverence for culture and expression.

We believe every form of art yearns to be seen, understood, and valued. Our mission is grounded in the idea that to truly honor the present and shape the future, we must first appreciate the depth and richness of our past—especially the enduring legacy of the world’s earliest civilizations.

Our mission is to return to those ancient roots while supporting contemporary voices. Through immersive exhibitions, guest speakers, and panel discussions, we offer a space for discovery, dialogue, and cross-cultural engagement. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, foster connection, and cultivate a deeper understanding of art and its role in shaping culture.
